5TH WORLD CHOIR GAMES - GRAZ, AUSTRIA

... the Himig Singers, a community choir based in Davao City, arrived earlier in Vienna and already performed before Pinoy and Austrian audience in the city. It also garnered a Silver Award in the Pop Music Category during the said competition.

The 5th World Choir Games, from July 9-19, has 441 registered choirs from 93 nations and some 20,000 active participants, including three choir groups from the Philippines: Kilyawan Boys Choir, Himig Singers and Las Pinas Boys Choir.

The World Choir Games 2008 is the largest competition in the history of choir music. The participating choirs demonstrate their abilities to the approximately 71 international jurors in more than 600 performances in 28 different categories. More than 1,000 concerts in Graz and its vicinity will take place, including friendship, gala and special concerts, throughout the competition.
