The world-renowned Loboc Children's Choir of Loboc, Bohol held a special concert last February 23 at the Tagum Trade Center. It was one of the highlights of the longest-running music festival in Region XI, “Musikahan sa Tagum”. The Himig Singers was invited to render songs during the intermission wherein they performed Pamintuan’s “Go The Distance”, Feliciano’s “Pokpok Alimpako”, Ortiz’ “Bulaklak” and Abeleda’s “Circle Of Life”. 11.07.07 1st ASIAN CHOIR GAMES' CHAMPION

Praise God! The multi-awarded Himig Singers of Davao City, recipient of numerous awards and topped several chorale competitions, swept the 1st Asian Choir Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from November 2-10, winning the top prize in the Mixed Vocal Ensemble category, besting rival groups from the host country, China, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The competing group, under Aldwin Curambao, performed Fabian Obispo's Chua-ay, Claudio Monteverdi's Che Se Tu Se Il Cor Mio, Joel Navarro's The Lord Is My Shepherd and Francisco Feliciano's Pokpok Alimpako. During the Concert of the Champions, the group sang Hernandez' Rosas Pandan, and A. Abeleda's rearrangement of Circle of Life.
