They say that breaking up the hollow ground of our lives is essential to becoming a place where seeds can grow.
I suffered a great loss during my father’s death. And for a while, I drifted in the wrong direction. A level of frustration and anger simmered inside me. I was bitter and numb. Every time I tried to climb out I would lose my footing and slide back down. But God the all-sufficient One lifted me from that pit. I experienced an unusual evidence of His presence that is still real and vivid to me. I was alone in a church when I heard a voice calling my name. And when I turned my head to see who it was, I saw the cross. Someone shared to me the story of the cross and the gift of eternal life. From then on, my life radically turned upside down. And my journey with Jesus Christ began.
Now, I find myself mentored through my experience. God tests and purifies His message in the lives of the people He chooses to use. It is in suffering and the painful trials in life that God makes Himself real to us. When we allow God’s grace fully into our disappointments and failures, He will give us an honest and strong message that we can share with others.
