As a child, I went to church regularly out of habit and because that was what I was taught to do. I never really gave God or my faith in Him a lot of credit. My faith was more intellectual rather than one of complete trust. I always thought that what achievement I have done, it was out of my own perseverance and hard-work. I never really took the time to really consider what God’s role was in the success of my endeavors.

It was on the 16th of March, this year when a couple of friends of mine from a choral group shared God’s gift of eternal life. They asked me a question that really made me stop and think. “If I were to die today, would God allow me into His Kingdom?” This made me evaluate my relationship with God and really look deep in my heart. I knew then that I needed to understand my responsibility in nurturing my faith. It isn’t enough that I do what God asks of me or expects from me. I have to find meaning and significance in doing it. Now, I believe I am a better person as I strive to stay committed to Christ by faith; yet I am still overwhelmed at the thought that I have become a saved child of God.

“If I were to die today, would God allow me into His Kingdom?”  I am confident to answer that question with a heartfelt “Yes!”
